An investment vehicle was formed in 2006 for the sole purpose of investing in the business of providing cable television, high-speed internet, data and telephony services in Central America, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Dominican Republic and Mexico.
The vehicle currently holds a 49.9% stake in Amnet Telecommunications Holdings, Ltd., which commands a leadership position in the cable television and broadband internet industry in El Salvador, Costa Rica and Honduras. In addition the company has the largest corporate data operation in Central America. The partner in the Amnet Group is the Kazma Family (Gerald Kazma and his son, Michael Kazma), who have invested in and operated cable TV companies in the U.S., Central America and the Caribbean for almost four decades.
The investor base is a select group composed of some of the most successful and influential individuals and business groups in the region, with controlling or significant investments in Central America’s key sectors of the economy. |
