• Harry started his career in academics, working as INCAE Professor, Academic Director and Rector (1970-1976, 1981) and Harvard Business School Associate Professor (1976-1979)
• He wrote the book “The Role of Family Business Group in Economic Development” and more than 50 cases and business notes in banking, finance, international business and strategy
• In 1979, Dr. Strachan joined Bain & Company Boston and was Partner from 1979 to 1998 and continues active part time with Bain and Bain Capital. He is also a founding partner of Mesoamerica Investments
• His experience at Bain and Mesoamerica has been in a variety of sectors: financial services, retailing & distribution, consumer products & beverages, information services & software, light & heavy industries, airlines, hotels & tourism, medical services & pharmaceuticals, agribusiness
• Harry has experience in several fields including business strategy development, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions
