Mesoamerica is primarily focused on investments opportunities of high rank. Larger transactions are considered on an opportunistic basis. Our investment policy will consider both control and minority investments with attractive risk/reward characteristics over a medium-term investment horizon.
We seek companies that either have leading positions, or have the potential to establish market leadership via consolidation or expansion in Central America and its extended region. We invest in businesses that have or can develop a durable competitive advantage, strong cash flow, high return on capital and growth potential. A strong management team with deep knowledge of its business and industry is required for the value creation process moving forward.
Mesoamerica’s investments will be in the form of buyouts, expansion capital, recapitalization or selected real estate acquisitions. We look to remain investors for a period of approximately 4 to 8 years, depending on the company and the industry. Exits are mainly focused on sales to multinationals, IPOs or leveraged recapitalizations. |
