Mesoamerica Energy was founded in 2004 in order to take advantage of investing opportunities in the renewable energy sector in Central America. Today the company is dedicated to the development, construction and operation of projects throughout the region.
In 2004, Mesoamerica Energy completed its first transaction with the successful acquisition of a 23MW operating wind farm in Costa Rica, Plantas Eólicas SRL (PESRL). Since then, the development team at Mesoamerica Energy evaluated several thousand MWs of potential projects, and currently has several hundred MWs at various stages of active development. |
